Local 478 firefighters have always been involved in a number of charitable organizations, and currently are actively involved with a number of events.

Miracle Match Marathon

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Fill the Boot

In helping fight the battle against muscular dystrophy, Waco Firefighgers, along with firefighters from accross the nation take donations annually by holding out their boots in hopes of raising funds.  Waco Firefighters brought in over $20,000 in just 2 days in 2008 from the generosity of our great citizens.  Firefighters routinely help staff the MDA Telethon on Labor Day.  More information on MDA can be found at : www.mda.org/
