Organized in 1938 to assist firefighters with fair labor practices; the Waco Professional Firefighters Association is one of the original charter members of the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters.  Local 478 members staff all 14 City of Waco Fire Stations 24 hours a day 365 days a year and are committed to providing the highest level of professional fire and emergency services anywhere.  Our organization is dedicated to  the improvement of safety and working conditions of Waco Firefighters, while maintaining the highest level of safety for the citizens we protect.   I welcome and encourage you to please take a look around this site to learn about how the professionals of Local 478 make the Waco Fire Department one of the very best in the nation.
