About Us

   Organized in 1938 to assist firefighters with fair labor practices, the Waco Professional Firefighters Association is one of the original charter members of the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters. Local-478 members staff all 13 City of Waco Fire Stations 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, and are committed to providing the highest level of professional fire and emergency services anywhere. In 2019, the work of our members over the previous years allowed us to achieve the distinction of becoming ISO Level 1 fire department. Our organization is dedicated to the improvement of safety and working conditions of Waco Firefighters, while maintaining the highest level of safety for the citizens we protect.
